COMPANIONSHIP

Companionship brings company, comfort, and a friendly face.

Some days people need practical help. Some days they need someone to sit with them, talk with them, and help the day feel less quiet.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about companionship

Is companionship the same as personal care?

No. Companionship focuses on social and practical support. If personal care is needed, it must be assessed and added to the care plan.

Can a carer take someone out?

Outings can be planned after transport, mobility, cost and risk arrangements have been agreed.

Can visits be occasional?

Frequency depends on availability and the support plan. Tell us what would be useful and we will discuss realistic options.

NEXT STEP

A care conversation helps us understand what support is needed, where it is needed and what should happen next.
